Yakiniku No Meimon Tendan Gion
Founded in 1965, this kamogawa restaurant is located on the banks of Kamogawa River near Kawabata Shijo Crossing in Kyoto. They offer Kyoto-style BBQ where you eat seasoned meat dipped in broth-like sauce. The restaurant is close to Yasaka Shrine and Hanamikoji street, and you can enjoy the scenery of Kamogawa River which reflects the four seasons of Kyoto.
Each floor of this five-storied building has its own features, so search for a seat that suits your purpose whether it’s a date, a family gathering, or a night out with friends.
The most popular BBQ menu is sirloin and Tendan loin which is loin rib that tastes umami thanks to its fine marbled fat. The recipe of the superb-taste sauce is top secret and could only be revealed to successive chefs.
It is also recommended that you try the savory marbled pork, Tanba Kudori Chicken (raised in the Tanba region), Angel Prawns, and other delicious dishes.

This kamogawa restaurant has been in Ponto-cho for about 65 years, serving course menus using seasonal ingredients such as common Japanese conger eel in the summer, Yudofu (tofu cooked in hot water) or Kamonabe (duck hot pot) in the winter. Each of the quality ingredients is meticulously handmade, including the tofu used in their tofu menus.
