Hokiji Temple: Secret Cosmos Temple in Nara
Nara prefecture, a place full of nature and cute wild deer roaming around, is the ancient capital of Japan and is home to many shrines, temples, and historical buildings. This includes Hokiji Temple which is built during the Asuka period.
In autumn, the temple is popular for the sight of pretty cosmos flowers that surround the oldest existing three-storied pagoda in Japan.

Hokiji Temple
It is said that a palace was converted into a temple to abide by the wish of the late prince Shotoku.
The three-storied pagoda which is the oldest three-stories pagoda in Japan and also a Natural Treasure, reflects beautifully on the pond nearby.

Hokiji Temple Access
🚇 Take the Kintetsu Train and get off at Kintetsukooriyama Station.
From there, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Horyu-ji Temple and get off at Hokiji-mae Bus Stop.
